In-house laboratory for process development
IMC's laboratory in Birmingham, Alabama is equipped with coating, calendering, and slitting systems available for customer trials and process development. The lab provides a controlled environment where customers can evaluate coating methods, establish process parameters, produce samples, and generate the data needed to specify production equipment with confidence.
What we offer
Coating trials using slot die, gravure, knife-over-roll, and reverse roll methods with your actual materials and formulations. Calendering trials with controlled compression, temperature, and thickness measurement. Slitting trials for edge quality evaluation and sample production. Our engineers work alongside your team throughout the trial process.
Why start in the lab
Production equipment represents a significant capital investment. Lab trials reduce the risk of that investment by validating the process before committing to a machine specification. The process parameters developed in our lab translate directly to production equipment design — because our lab systems use the same engineering principles as our production machines.
